Bishop’s car attacked in Muvattupuzha as police begin investigation

Muvattupuzha: Police have launched an investigation after a vehicle carrying Bishop Joseph Kollamparambil of the Shamshabad Diocese was attacked near the Velloor Kunnam signal junction in Muvattupuzha on Tuesday night.

According to reports, the bishop was travelling from the airport toward Pala when a lorry blocked the road, forcing his car to stop. Soon after, the front headlight of the bishop’s car was damaged in the attack. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported in the incident.

Local sources indicate that the bishop has not yet filed a formal complaint. However, Muvattupuzha police have started collecting details about the vehicle and the person who carried out the attack. Officers have begun tracing the lorry involved and are examining whether it was a deliberate act or an accident.

The motive behind the attack remains unclear. Police said they will take further action once a detailed statement is received from the bishop.

So far, no arrests have been made, and officials have not released the identity of any suspect. Church representatives have not issued a public statement on the incident.
