Jubilee of Communicators Meet Concludes with Renewed Call for Synodal Dialogue and Digital Collaboration

Bengaluru: The Jubilee of Communicators Meet drew to a close in Bengaluru with renewed focus on fostering synodal communication, collaboration, and faith-filled engagement in the digital era. The concluding sessions reflected a deep sense of unity and purpose as participants explored how Catholic communicators can respond creatively and responsibly to the challenges of the modern media landscape.

The day’s proceedings began with reflections on “The Catholic Digital Ecosystem,” led by Fr. David Arockiam, Regional Secretary of SIGNIS India (Tamil Nadu Region) and CEO of Madha TV. He emphasized the urgent need to build a value-based and ethical digital environment one that promotes truth, dialogue, and communion within an often fragmented media culture. Faith-driven media, he noted, must serve as a bridge that uplifts, informs, and unites communities.

Fr. Joe Xavier revisited key insights from earlier sessions, encouraging participants to deepen their engagement through an Emmaus Talk a spiritual exercise that invited priests to share their lived experiences of communication and encounter. His reflections underscored that authentic Christian communication begins with listening and accompaniment, rooted in personal faith journeys.

Engaging group discussions followed, moderated by Fr. Sudeep Paul, Karnataka Regional Secretary. Participants divided into two teams explored the themes “From Words to Relationships: Connecting through Communication” and “What Can Bring Order to Communication Disorder.” These sessions encouraged collaborative thinking and practical dialogue on nurturing synodal communication where listening, participation, and co-responsibility guide every message the Church shares.

A panel discussion moderated by Fr. Kampan Chinnam, North East Regional Secretary, delved into the evolving media landscape through the theme “Change of the Communication Paradigm: The Rise of Social Media and Catholic Influencers.” Panelists Fr. Richie Vincent (Chennai), Fr. Anil Ivan Fernandes (Mangalore), and Fr. Alfred Dsouza (Bhopal) reflected on the transformative potential of digital evangelization, the responsibility of online influence, and the growing need for discernment in the era of instant communication.

The meet concluded with a collective reflection led by Fr. Nigel Barrett, who summarized the key takeaways and proposed future directions for collaborative ministry. An evaluation session conducted by Fr. Cyril Victor Joseph allowed participants to share feedback and express their hopes for future initiatives in Catholic media.

More than a conference, the Jubilee of Communicators Meet became a spiritual and professional renewal for Catholic communicators across India. It reaffirmed the Church’s mission to tell stories that inspire faith, unity, and justice while equipping communicators with tools for digital discipleship and synodal engagement. The gathering ended with a shared vision: to communicate Christ’s message with authenticity, creativity, and compassion in the ever-evolving digital world.
