Trump announces major trade and investment deal between United States and Uzbekistan

Washington: President Donald J. Trump announced that the United States and Uzbekistan have reached a new trade and economic agreement aimed at deepening ties and expanding cooperation between the two countries.

According to the president, Uzbekistan plans to invest about 35 billion dollars in the next three years and more than 100 billion dollars over the next decade in various U.S. sectors. The agreement marks one of the largest economic commitments between the two nations in recent history.

Officials said the partnership will cover a wide range of areas, including agriculture, aviation, renewable energy, artificial intelligence, and infrastructure development. Reports from Uzbekistan confirmed that several deals have already been signed with major U.S. companies, such as John Deere for agricultural machinery, Boeing for aircraft purchases, and American firms working in solar technology and water management.

The trade deal follows the recent “C5+1” summit between the United States and the five Central Asian nations, where Washington emphasized its interest in strengthening economic and strategic partnerships in the region.

Analysts view this as part of a broader effort by the U.S. to expand its presence in Central Asia and reduce the influence of Russia and China.

Experts noted that Uzbekistan’s rich reserves of minerals like tungsten and molybdenum have drawn growing attention from the United States as it seeks to diversify supply chains. The new deal could open doors for greater U.S. investment in these critical sectors while helping Uzbekistan modernize its industries and expand exports.

However, economic observers cautioned that while the announced figures are impressive, the success of the deal will depend on the effective implementation of projects, regulatory reforms, and the ability of both nations to sustain long-term cooperation.

For Uzbekistan, the agreement is expected to boost industrial development, create jobs, and attract foreign technology. For the United States, it presents new opportunities for trade, investment, and strategic engagement in a region of increasing global importance.
