New Delhi:  Investigators looking into the recent blast near Delhis Red Fort are examining the role of a wider radicalisation network after the arrest of several individuals, including doctors and students from different states. New information suggests that the brother of one of the arrested doctors may have been in contact with radical groups, deepening concerns over how educated youth were drawn into extremist ideas.

Police officials say the case has revealed signs of self radicalisation among some of the suspects, including Dr Shaheen Shahid and her brother Parvez Sayeed. Investigators believe both drifted into extremist thinking over time and maintained limited interaction with family members as their views changed.

Family members of the arrested individuals, however, say they are shocked by the allegations. Shaheens elder brother told investigators and the media that the family had little contact with her in recent years and never imagined she could be involved in a terror related case. He said the news has left the entire family struggling to understand how she became connected to such activities.

Officials say the Delhi blast is being treated as part of a larger pattern in which radical groups use online platforms to influence young people. Investigators are now checking whether some of the accused had links to individuals outside the country or to groups encouraging violent acts.

Police teams across several states are continuing raids and questioning to identify anyone who may have helped the group or shared extremist content with them. Sources say digital evidence, including chat messages and social media activity, is playing an important role in understanding how the suspects were influenced.

The probe is still at an early stage, and officials have not yet confirmed international links. They say the investigation will focus on uncovering the entire network and preventing similar cases of self radicalisation among young professionals in the future.
