Kochi: The Kerala Regional Latin Catholic Council (KRLCC), the apex body guiding policy and coordination for Latin Catholics in the state, has declared that December 7 will be observed as Latin Catholic Day. The observance seeks to clearly communicate who is celebrating, what the occasion stands for, when and where it will unfold, why it holds significance for the community, and how the faithful throughout Kerala will take part.
Ahead of the celebration, the Kerala Latin Catholic Bishops’ Council has circulated an official directive to all dioceses. This circular will be read out and explained during services in every parish and institution of the Latin Catholic Church in Kerala on Sunday, November 30. The aim is to ensure that all members of the community are fully aware of the initiative and encouraged to participate wholeheartedly.
The day’s observance is designed to deepen unity among Latin Catholics, strengthen awareness of their heritage and contributions to Kerala’s cultural and spiritual landscape, and renew their dedication to social uplift and collective service.
Media organizations have been urged to give wide coverage to the announcement so that the message reaches every member of the community, allowing the celebration to become a meaningful expression of faith, identity, and solidarity.
