One Parish, One Family – Perth Syro Malabar Community gears up for a Joyful Parish Day Celebration

Perth: With just 3 days remaining, anticipation is building across the community as preparations surge ahead for the Parish Day & Catechism Anniversary 2025, scheduled for Saturday, 29 November from 2 PM onwards. Volunteers, families, and performers are working tirelessly to ensure this year’s gathering becomes a memorable occasion that reflects the spirit and unity of the parish.

A Theme Rooted in Faith and Family
At the heart of the celebration is a meaningful theme – “We are one Big Family in Christ”. Parish Day Co-ordinator Risen Jose shared this message warmly with the Perth Syro-Malabar community, highlighting the beauty of fellowship that spans generations. Vicar Fr Ajith Cheriakkara and Assistant Vicar Fr Bibin Velamparambil have extended their full support, encouraging the parish to celebrate its blessings and strengthen community bonds through this special event.

Vibrant Performances from All Corners of the Parish
The program promises a vibrant showcase of talent, featuring performances from the parish’s four family unit zones, five catechism centres, and various ministries and associations. Organisers report energetic rehearsals, noting that the day will offer an array of heartwarming presentations that reflect the parish’s cultural richness, faith, and shared joy. Families are encouraged to come together and experience an afternoon filled with colour, music, and fellowship.

Honouring Milestones and Celebrating God’s Blessings
A significant part of the celebration will also honour individuals and families marking important milestones. Special recognition will be given to those celebrating 25th and 50th wedding anniversaries, parishioners reaching 60th, 70th, 75th, and 80th birthdays, families blessed with four or more children, and students who achieved an ATAR score of 90 or above. These moments of recognition reflect the parish’s gratitude for the achievements, faith journeys, and blessings within the community.

Food, Fellowship, and Gratitude to Generous Sponsors
Adding to the festive atmosphere, food stalls will offer a variety of dishes for families to enjoy while they gather and reconnect.

The parish also expresses heartfelt appreciation to its generous sponsors:
