Diamond Jubilee of Sahrudaya Welfare Services Celebrated with Grandeur in Ernakulam

Kochi: The Syro-Malabar Church’s social service wing, Sahrudaya Welfare Services, marked a historic milestone by celebrating its Diamond Jubilee, commemorating 60 years of dedicated service to society. The grand event was held under the auspices of the Archeparchy of Ernakulam–Angamaly, bringing together clergy, faithful, social workers, and dignitaries in a celebration of service, faith, and community outreach.

Presiding over the occasion was His Beatitude Major Archbishop Mar Raphael Thattil, the Father and Head of the Syro-Malabar Church, who delivered the presidential address, reflecting on six decades of selfless service, compassion, and empowerment of the marginalized. His Beatitude highlighted the transformative role of Sahrudaya Welfare Services in addressing social challenges, promoting education, healthcare, and welfare initiatives, and fostering solidarity across communities. He urged everyone present to continue building on this legacy of service with renewed dedication, emphasizing that faith and action must go hand in hand to create a more just and inclusive society.

The celebrations were formally inaugurated by Sri Rajendra Viswanath Arlekar, Honourable Governor of Kerala, who lauded Sahrudaya Welfare Services for its long-standing commitment to social development and community welfare. The Governor highlighted the organization’s role in improving the lives of countless individuals and families, acknowledging its sustained efforts in education, healthcare, and humanitarian initiatives across Ernakulam and surrounding regions.

The Diamond Jubilee event also featured cultural programs, felicitation of dedicated staff and volunteers, and interactive sessions that celebrated the organization’s history, achievements, and future vision. Participants hailed the milestone as a testament to the power of faith-driven service and the enduring impact of collective effort in uplifting society.
