Only Two Days Left for Norka Care Insurance Enrollment: Expatriates Urged to Register Soon

Kochi: Time is running out for Malayali expatriates to sign up for Norka Care, the State government’s comprehensive health and accident insurance scheme operated through Norka Roots. Registration for the 2025 cycle will close on November 30, leaving expatriates with just two more days to secure their coverage.

Eligible individuals including those holding a valid Norka Pravasi ID, Student ID, or NRK ID card can complete their enrollment either via the official Norka Roots website or through dedicated Norka Care mobile applications.

Currently, the Norka Care network provides cashless medical services across 18,000 hospitals nationwide, including over 500 hospitals in Kerala. For applicants seeking guidance, Norka headquarters has set up a dedicated helpline, and support will also be offered through video conferencing for online registrations.

Enrollment services will remain open from 3:00 PM to 3:45 PM on all working days until November 30, 2025. During this period, registrations will be processed exclusively through video call on the Norka Roots portal, officials confirmed.

The NORKA CARE scheme offers ₹5 lakh health insurance and ₹10 lakh accident insurance for Keralites living outside the state. Coverage officially came into effect on November 1, marking Kerala Piravi Day. The policy is open to individuals aged 18 to 70, and up to 25 years for dependent children.

For years, expatriate Malayalis have been requesting an inclusive health and accident insurance mechanism. With the rollout of NORKA CARE, a long-standing demand highlighted even during the World Kerala Sabha has finally been fulfilled.

The scheme is open not only to Keralites working abroad but also to those living in other Indian states along with their families. While treatment is presently limited to hospitals within India, officials indicated that the coverage may soon be expanded to benefit more non-resident Keralites in the future.
