Rahul Easwar’s Bail Petition to be Heard Today in Survivor-Insult Case

Thiruvananthapuram: The Thiruvananthapuram District Sessions Court is set to hear the bail application of social activist Rahul Easwar, who was arrested for allegedly making derogatory remarks online against a woman who had lodged a complaint against MLA Rahul Mankootathil.

In his bail plea, Easwar argues that his arrest is unlawful, stressing that the charges against him do not fall under non-bailable offences. He also maintains that he never disclosed the identity or personal information of the complainant on social media.

Currently, Easwar is lodged in Poojappura Central Jail under judicial custody. He has reportedly been on a hunger strike inside the prison, protesting what he describes as an unjust arrest.

Meanwhile, the Thiruvananthapuram Cyber Police has moved the court seeking his custody for further investigation, adding a new dimension to the ongoing case.
