Wismaya Raav 2025 to be held in Kochi on December 22

Kochi: The third edition of Wismaya Raav, a Christian ecumenical gathering that promotes unity among churches and communities, will be held on December 22 in Kochi. This was announced by general convener Fr Martin Thaiparambil.

The celebration is being organised by believers from nine Christian churches located between Vyttila and Kadavanthra. According to Fr Joy Ayniyadan, patron of the organising committee, preparations for the event have already begun.

A meeting related to the event was held yesterday at Sanjo Hall in Kadavanthra, where chairman Fr K G Joseph presided.

One of the highlights of the event will be a large rally with thousands of participants dressed as Santa Claus and angels. The rally will begin at Elamkulam Fatima Matha Church and proceed to Little Flower Church, which will serve as the main celebration venue.

Members from Vyttila St Patrick Church, Elamkulam St Mary’s Soonoro Church, Fatima Matha Church, St Gregorios Church, Jerusalem Mar Thoma Church, CSI Christ Church, Little Flower Church, Kadavanthra St Joseph Church and St Sebastian Church will lead the celebrations along with people from different communities and faiths.

The ecumenical gathering will begin with representatives from all nine churches lighting a ceremonial lamp. CSI Kochi Bishop Rt Rev Kurian Peter will participate as the chief guest.

The event will conclude with cultural performances presented by members from the participating churches.
