New Delhi: Dense fog across large parts of north India has continued to disrupt air travel, prompting IndiGo to issue a fresh travel advisory warning passengers of possible flight delays and schedule changes.
According to the airline, poor visibility during early morning and late night hours is affecting airport operations in cities such as Delhi and nearby northern regions. IndiGo said fog conditions can lead to delays in departures and arrivals, and in some cases diversions, as safety procedures require longer turnaround times.
Passengers have been advised to check their flight status before heading to the airport and allow extra time for travel, security checks and boarding. The airline also urged travellers to keep their contact details updated so they can receive real time alerts in case of changes.
Airport authorities said flight operations are being managed using low visibility procedures, but dense fog continues to slow down movement, especially during peak winter hours. Similar conditions have also affected rail and road transport, with visibility dropping sharply in several areas.
Weather officials said foggy conditions are expected to persist over the next few days due to low temperatures, high moisture levels and calm winds across the Indo Gangetic plains. Travellers have been advised to plan journeys carefully and stay updated through official airline and airport announcements.
