Bomb threats reported at multiple Catholic schools in Kansas

Kansas City: Several Catholic schools in the US state of Kansas received bomb threats on December 18 and December 19, prompting investigations by local law enforcement agencies, according to a statement from the Archdiocese of Kansas City.

The archdiocese confirmed that a number of Catholic schools were targeted by the threats, though it has not released the names of the institutions involved. Media reports suggest that around 12 Catholic schools may have received such threats. Authorities are also looking into reports of similar threats in other metro areas.

Archdiocesan superintendent Vince Cascone said all students and staff members are safe and that schools are closely following the guidance provided by law enforcement agencies. He added that officials are cooperating fully with ongoing investigations.

Police and other enforcement agencies have been checking the affected campuses and working to determine the source and credibility of the threats. As the incidents occurred close to the Christmas season, authorities have advised heightened security and vigilance.

Officials have reassured parents and the wider community that student safety remains the top priority while investigations continue.
