Vatican City: Images and messages of Pope Leo XIV have taken over large digital screens across Rome this Christmas, replacing the usual advertisements for travel and festive treats.
For several days, Pope’s photographs and short reflections have been displayed in busy public spaces near the Vatican, including Piazza Risorgimento, Via Ottaviano, and Via Tunisi outside the Vatican Museums. The messages, drawn from his recent speeches, invite people to reflect on hope, peace, and unity during the Christmas season.
The initiative has been promoted by the Dicastery for Communication in collaboration with Selfiestreet , using large screens installed around the Vatican area. Many passersby have been seen stopping to read the messages and view images of the Pope meeting the faithful and Jubilee pilgrims.
Running until December 31, the campaign has also gained wide attention on social media. According to an official statement, placing the Holy Father’s words in public spaces during Christmas is meant to express spiritual closeness and to remind people of the enduring values of peace, hope, and fraternity at the heart of the season.
