Mumbai: Nykaa reported a sharp jump in profit for the December quarter as strong demand for beauty and personal care products continued across India.
The company said its profit more than doubled to about 633 million rupees compared with the same period last year. Higher sales of skincare, makeup and premium beauty products helped boost earnings during the festive and wedding season.
Nykaa’s revenue rose around 27 percent to nearly 28.7 billion rupees for the quarter. The growth was led mainly by its beauty business, which benefited from steady consumer spending despite pressure on household budgets in other areas.
The company said demand remained strong for both international and Indian brands, especially in skincare and cosmetics. Nykaa also saw better margins as customers spent more on higher value products.
Nykaa continues to expand its offline presence alongside its online platform. The company has been adding more physical stores in new cities to reach a wider customer base and strengthen brand visibility.
Industry analysts say the results show that beauty and personal care remain resilient in India, even as consumers cut back on discretionary spending elsewhere. Nykaa’s focus on premium products and a mix of online and offline sales has helped it stay ahead in a competitive market.
The company said it remains confident about growth in the coming quarters, supported by rising interest in beauty products and an expanding urban and semi urban customer base.
