Modi to visit Israel with ministers and business leaders

New Delhi: India’s Prime minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Israel later this month in a move aimed at strengthening strategic cooperation, expanding trade and boosting technology partnerships between the two countries.

The visit is expected to take place on February 25 and 26. During the trip, Modi will hold talks with Israeli Prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu and is expected to address the Israeli parliament. The visit marks Modi’s second trip to Israel, following his historic visit in 2017, the first by an Indian prime minister.

A high level delegation is likely to accompany the prime minister, including senior cabinet ministers, government officials and business leaders. Their participation highlights the strong economic focus of the visit and the push to promote investment and industrial partnerships.

Discussions are expected to focus on defence cooperation, security coordination and counterterrorism efforts. India and Israel have long worked together in advanced defence technology and joint development projects.

Trade and investment are also expected to be key priorities. Both countries are working toward expanding bilateral trade and exploring frameworks to strengthen investment flows. Business leaders joining the visit are expected to explore new opportunities in manufacturing, infrastructure and innovation.

Technology collaboration is another major area of cooperation. Talks may include partnerships in cybersecurity, medical technology, agriculture innovation, water management and startup ecosystems, areas where Israeli expertise and India’s large market offer strong potential.

The visit comes at a time when India and Israel continue to deepen cooperation across multiple sectors and expand collaboration through regional partnerships. Analysts say the trip reflects the growing importance of the relationship and its role in economic growth, security cooperation and technological innovation.

The visit is expected to reinforce long standing ties and open new avenues for cooperation in the years ahead.
