India’s Yotta to build $2 billion AI hub with Nvidia technology

New Delhi: Indian data centre company Yotta Data Services plans to build a major artificial intelligence computing hub powered by Nvidia’s latest Blackwell Ultra chips, in a project valued at more than $2 billion.

The AI supercluster will be deployed mainly at Yotta’s data centre campus near New Delhi, with additional capacity from its facility in Mumbai. The system is expected to go live by August 2026 and will support advanced AI processing and generative AI services for businesses and developers.

Under a four year agreement valued at over $1 billion, Nvidia will establish one of the largest DGX Cloud clusters in the Asia Pacific region within Yotta’s infrastructure. The deployment is expected to include tens of thousands of advanced GPUs, with reports indicating more than 20,000 Blackwell processors in the initial phase.

The computing hub will provide high performance AI capabilities along with Nvidia’s enterprise software and cloud tools. It is designed to help companies train large AI models, run complex data analysis and deploy generative AI applications locally.

The investment comes amid rapidly growing demand for AI computing in India. Global technology companies including Microsoft and Amazon have been expanding data centre capacity in the country as businesses seek local infrastructure to support artificial intelligence services.

India is pushing to strengthen domestic computing capacity as part of its ambition to become a global AI leader. Building local AI infrastructure is seen as critical for supporting startups, research institutions, enterprises and government digital initiatives.

Yotta is part of the Hiranandani Group led by billionaire Niranjan Hiranandani. The company operates data centre facilities in Mumbai, Gujarat and the National Capital Region and has been developing sovereign AI infrastructure through its Shakti Cloud platform.

The project places India among a small group of countries building large scale AI computing infrastructure and highlights the global race to expand capacity as demand for artificial intelligence continues to surge.
