Putin shares proposals with Trump to end Iran war quickly

Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation with United States President Donald Trump and shared proposals aimed at ending the ongoing war involving Iran as quickly as possible, the Kremlin said on Monday.

According to the Kremlin, the two leaders spoke for about an hour and discussed the rapidly escalating conflict in the Middle East. Putin reportedly outlined several ideas for a political and diplomatic solution to stop the fighting and prevent the situation from worsening.

The Kremlin described the conversation as serious and constructive. Putin stressed that the crisis should be resolved through negotiations and diplomacy rather than continued military action.

The war involving Iran has raised global concerns because of its impact on energy markets and regional stability. The conflict has already pushed oil prices higher and created fears that shipping through the Strait of Hormuz could be disrupted. The strait is one of the most important routes for global oil transport.

Russia warned that if the conflict continues, oil flows through the strait could face serious disruption, which may trigger a wider global energy crisis.
During the call, Putin and Trump also discussed the war in Ukraine and broader international security issues. Putin briefed Trump on the situation on the battlefield, while the US president reportedly expressed interest in efforts that could lead to a ceasefire and a longer term settlement.

Energy market stability was another topic raised during the conversation. Rising tensions in the Middle East have already affected global oil prices, prompting concern among many countries about fuel supply and economic stability.

The phone call comes as several world powers are trying to prevent the Iran conflict from expanding across the Middle East. Russia has signalled its willingness to play a role in diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions and restoring stability in the region.
