Russia accused of sharing details of US bases and Israeli energy sites with Iran

Tel Aviv: Ukrainian intelligence has claimed that Russia shared detailed information about United States military bases in the Gulf and key energy facilities in Israel with Iran, raising fresh concerns about growing cooperation between Moscow and Tehran.

According to officials in Ukraine, the intelligence included satellite images and strategic data that could help Iran improve the accuracy of its missile and drone operations. The report suggests that dozens of locations linked to US forces in the Middle East were identified and analysed.

The same sources also said that a list of important energy infrastructure sites in Israel was passed on. These facilities are considered critical to the country’s power supply and economic stability, and any attack on them could cause serious disruption.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said there is strong evidence to support the claims. He also criticised what he described as a weak response from Western countries, warning that such cooperation could further destabilise the region.

The allegations come at a time of heightened tensions involving Iran, Israel, and the United States. Iran has been linked to attacks targeting US-linked positions and regional infrastructure in recent months.

Experts say the reported intelligence sharing reflects a deeper strategic relationship between Russia and Iran, including cooperation in military technology and cyber operations.

However, Moscow has rejected similar accusations in the past. Vladimir Putin’s government has consistently denied providing military targeting support to Iran and has dismissed such claims as unfounded.

While the Ukrainian report has drawn international attention, independent verification remains limited. Analysts say the situation highlights the growing complexity of global alliances and the risk of wider conflict in the Middle East.
