The Republic of the Congo (Congo Brazzaville) is a Central African nation bordered by five countries Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) to the east and south, across the Congo River, Gabon to the west, Cameroon to the northwest, Central African Republic (CAR) to the north and Angola (Cabinda exclave) to the southwest. It also has a short Atlantic Ocean coastline near Pointe Noire.

Population of the Republic of Congo is estimated at 6 million, out of which there are many ethnic groups, with Bantu peoples forming the majority.
