Kerala SSLC Results Likely on May 15 as Examination Board Holds Final Review Meeting

Thiruvananthapuram: The much-awaited Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examination results in Kerala are expected to be declared on May 15, as the state Examination Board convenes today for its final review meeting to approve the results and complete remaining formalities.

According to education department sources, the valuation process and tabulation procedures have already been completed, paving the way for the final approval stage. The Examination Board meeting, scheduled for today in Thiruvananthapuram, is considered a crucial step before the official announcement of results for lakhs of students across the state.

Former General Education Minister V. Sivankutty had earlier indicated that the SSLC results would likely be published on the 15th of this month. Officials within the education department now suggest that preparations are progressing in line with that schedule, making Friday the most probable date for the announcement.

Sources close to the Pariksha Bhavan stated that all major technical and administrative procedures related to result processing have been completed. Once the Examination Board grants formal approval, authorities will require an additional day to finalize documentation, upload data, and complete official verification procedures before making the results public.

Usually, the SSLC results are announced by the sitting Education Minister during a formal press briefing. However, the current political situation in Kerala has created uncertainty regarding who will officially release the results. With the newly elected government yet to complete the process of cabinet formation, there is a possibility that senior bureaucratic officials may take charge of the announcement instead.

Education department insiders indicated that if ministerial responsibilities are not assigned before the scheduled release date, the announcement may be made either by the Chief Secretary or the Director of Public Education. Authorities are reportedly prepared to proceed without delay to ensure that students and parents receive the results on time.

The SSLC examination remains one of the most significant academic milestones in Kerala’s education system, determining students’ transition into higher secondary education. Every year, lakhs of students and families anxiously await the results, which often influence admissions to various academic streams and future career pathways.

Meanwhile, schools across the state have begun preparing support systems for students once the results are published. Career guidance sessions, higher secondary admission assistance, and counseling support are expected to be activated immediately after the announcement to help students make informed academic decisions.

Officials have also assured that digital infrastructure and online result portals are being strengthened to manage heavy traffic on the day of publication. Students are expected to be able to access their marks through official education department websites and digital platforms soon after the formal declaration.

As anticipation grows among students and parents, today’s Examination Board meeting is expected to clear the final hurdle before Kerala officially announces the SSLC results for the academic year.
