Ajman: The annual celebrations and Kudumbasangamam 2026 of the Ajman Syro Malabar Community Association (SMCA) of St Michael’s Church, Sharjah, were held in a grand manner at the Ajman Real Water Auditorium on Sunday evening.
The programmes began at 5 pm with the opening of the gates, followed by a series of sports events and a lively tug of war competition that brought excitement and energy to the gathering. Families, children and members of the community actively participated in the activities, creating a joyful atmosphere throughout the venue.
The cultural conference that followed was inaugurated by SMCA Director Fr John Joseph Edattu Capuchin. The event began with a prayer song presented by Amalu, Jennis and Angel. SMCA Coordinator Syriac Joseph welcomed the gathering, while Nilson Jacob presented the annual report of the association and highlighted the activities carried out during the past year.
Sharjah SMC Coordinator Biju Joseph and Faith Formation Headmistress Latha Paul also addressed the gathering and conveyed their greetings and best wishes to the community members. During the function, prizes were distributed to the winners of various competitions, and mementoes were presented to those who made notable contributions to the association’s activities. Fr John Joseph Edattu Capuchin led the award distribution ceremony.
SMCA Joint Coordinator Soumya Anoop delivered the vote of thanks and expressed gratitude to all those who worked behind the scenes to make the event successful.
After the official function, the audience enjoyed colourful dance performances presented by members of the community. The celebrations concluded with a musical evening led by a well known music band, which added more excitement and entertainment to the family gathering.
A large number of faithful, including children and elders, attended the programme, making Kudumbasangamam 2026 a memorable celebration of faith, fellowship and togetherness for the Ajman Syro Malabar community.
