Re NEET UG 2026 results declared as two students secure top rank with 715 marks

New Delhi: The National Testing Agency has declared the results of the Re NEET UG 2026 examination, bringing an end to months of uncertainty for thousands of medical aspirants across the country. The revised examination was conducted after the original NEET UG 2026 test came under scrutiny due to allegations of irregularities at some examination centres. With the publication of the results, the focus now shifts to the counselling process and admissions to medical and dental colleges across India.

According to the National Testing Agency, Aryan Gupta from Punjab and Panshul Bansal from Haryana emerged as the highest scorers in the re examination, each securing 715 marks out of 720. Although both candidates achieved the same score, the official ranking has been determined using the prescribed tie breaking rules, placing Aryan Gupta at the top of the merit list followed closely by Panshul Bansal.

The results also reflect a strong overall performance by students. More than 11.21 lakh candidates have qualified for the next stage of the admission process. The data released by the National Testing Agency shows that nearly 58 percent of the successful candidates are women, highlighting the growing participation and success of female students in one of the country's most competitive entrance examinations.

The examination statistics further reveal that 19 candidates scored 700 marks or above. A total of 138 candidates secured more than 690 marks, while 1,492 students crossed the 650 mark. More than 10,000 candidates achieved scores above 600, indicating a significant number of high performers this year.

Education experts have noted that the performance of candidates in the Re NEET UG 2026 examination is considerably stronger than in the previous year. In NEET UG 2025, the highest score recorded was 686, and no candidate managed to cross the 700 mark due to the comparatively difficult question paper. In contrast, this year's re examination produced 19 candidates with scores above 700, suggesting a different level of performance and examination outcome.

The list of top ranking candidates includes students from several states, including Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar, Tamil Nadu and Telangana. This wide representation reflects the national nature of the examination and the competitive preparation undertaken by students across different regions of the country.

Candidates who appeared for the re examination can now download their scorecards through the official National Testing Agency website. The scorecards contain individual marks, qualifying status and All India Rank, which will be used during the admission process.

The declaration of the results clears the way for the Medical Counselling Committee to begin counselling for the 15 percent All India Quota seats. At the same time, individual state authorities are expected to announce their counselling schedules for the remaining state quota seats. Admissions to MBBS, BDS and other undergraduate medical courses will be conducted based on the final merit list and the counselling process.

The Re NEET UG 2026 examination was held following concerns over alleged question paper leaks and other irregularities that affected the credibility of the original examination. The decision to conduct a fresh examination was taken to ensure fairness and restore confidence in the medical entrance process. With the results now declared, students and their families are preparing for the next crucial stage of counselling and seat allocation.

The National Testing Agency has advised candidates to regularly check the official website for counselling notifications, admission guidelines and other important updates. As one of the largest entrance examinations in the country, NEET UG continues to play a decisive role in determining admissions to undergraduate medical and dental programmes, making the announcement of the results a significant milestone for lakhs of aspiring doctors.
