Deadly tornadoes leave a trail of destruction in US, more expected

Four tornadoes reportedly touched down overnight across Kentucky, USA. The tornadoes have caused significant damage in more than a dozen counties. The primary tornado travelled more than 365 kms across the state, said Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear.

Officials on Saturday said that a devastating outbreak of tornadoes torn through Kentucky and several other U.S. states, killing dozens of people. Buildings along a path of 200 miles were destroyed.

At least 30 tornadoes are reported to have stormed across six states: Arkansas, Illinois, Kentucky, Missouri, Mississippi and Tennessee. 50 people are likely to have dies after multiple tornadoes tore through southwestern Kentucky late Friday. Other deaths have been reported in Arkansas and Illinois.

The Amazon warehouse in Edwardsville in southern Illinois was also reported as during a tornado on Friday night.

More severe weather is expected to occur over the weekend.
