Thiruvalla: The history of the Church was formed through the guidance of Holy Spirit across twenty-one centuries; the alleged history devised through media debates are not of the Church, said Archbishop Mar Joseph Pamplany. Mar Pamplany spoke while delivering the keynote address at the 'Malankara Catholic Church Punaraikya’ (reunion) Annual Conference.

Numerous attempts have taken place in the past to paint a dark history of the Church. Such attempts continue in social media by bringing into the forefront wrongdoings of a negligent number of priests and religious. Some of the proponents of such theories enthusiastically participate and speak against all priests and religious through Newsroom debates.

Mar Pamplany pointed out that such advocates are instigated by deceitful forces. The faithful should responsibly identify and propagate correct historical facts. No one should assume that the existence of the Church or Priesthood is deteriorating. Priests should not remain passive or inactive owing to such false propaganda.
