Kozhikode: Father Babu Kuzhumbil, CMI (57), member of Kozhikode CMI St. Thomas Province was called to eternal rest on 24th Monday. His Father was the late Joseph and his mother Theresa.

Father Babu was ordained a priest in 1987 and became a member of CMI Sabha in 1996. He served at Merigiri (Therthalli) Parish, Mount Sinai Ashram Lakhiti, Christ CMI Ashram Iritty, Darshan Dhyana Kendram Thaliparam and St. Thomas Provincial House Kozhikode.

During 2014-17 he was Vicar Provincial of St. Thomas Province, Kozhikode. Father Babu was an accomplished retreat preacher. He has conducted many retreats and classes in various parishes, seminaries and convents in Talassery, Thamarasery and Mananthavadi dioceses.

He is survived by his siblings, Emmanuel (Retd. Tehsildar), Jacob (Retd. Mavur Grasim), Jose (Retd. HM), Baby (Business), Alice (Retd. Teacher), Mary (Retd. Teacher), Jolly (G.H. SS Areekote), Tresa (LFUPS Venapara).

His mortal remains will be brought to St Thomas Novitiate House, Marikunnu on Monday, 24 October at 03.30 pm.

The mortal remains will be kept at St Joseph's Monastery Church, Devagiri from 8.30 am onwards on Tuesday, 25 October 2022 for paying homage.
The funeral service will be held at 02.00 pm on Tuesday, 25 October 2022 at St Joseph's Monastery Church, Devagiri.
