Kansas : The glimpse of the emotional reunion of a newborn and a mother has captured the hearts of many around the world.The whole world has fallen in love with Mahale and Kucheza, a mother and baby chimpanzee housed in the Sedgwick County Zoo.

The video from the FB page of the Zoo shows Mahale hesitating at first and then rushing to pick up the baby chimp.


She cuddles the baby in her motherly love as those watching are brought to tears.

The zoo authorities were faced with a life-saving decision, delivering Kucheza via emergency C-section.

The authorities stepped in with the emergency procedure after Mahale's natural labour stopped progressing. Her baby boy wasn’t breathing well on his own after his birth. The authorities were forced to keep him in the hospital with the medical team until he could be reunited with mom.

After two full days, the baby was united with his mother.

The zoo authorities wrote on their FB page that Mahale was not ready to keep the baby down for a day.

The incident is a stark reminder of the thousands of unborn human lives that are so casually taken away daily.

Perhaps the animal world recognises that every creation from the moment of conception is a marvel of the creator.
