Chandigarh - Parkash Singh Badal, a towering political figure and former Chief Minister of Punjab, passed away at the age of 95 on Tuesday. He breathed his last at a private hospital in Mohali, where he was admitted due to age-related ailments. Despite receiving appropriate medical care, he succumbed to his illness, according to a statement from the hospital.

He was a stalwart of the Shiromani Akali Dal, one of the oldest regional parties in India, and served as its president for several years.
