The Tower of Babel and the Importance of Humility

God dislikes pride because it leads us to turn away from Him. We always need God in our lives because He created us to rely on Him and ask for His help. When we disobey our parents or treat others poorly, that's a sign of pride.

Once upon a time, everyone in the world spoke the same language, and they lived in a place called Babylonia. There was a king named Nimrod who wanted to be famous and convinced the people to build a tower that reached the heavens. They believed that by doing this, they would become great and known throughout the world.

The people worked hard to make bricks and build the tower. They thought that by staying united and working together, they could achieve anything. But God saw their hearts were filled with pride and self-focus instead of love for Him. He was disappointed and angry with them.

God decided to come down and see the tower for Himself. He realized that the people's pride was leading them away from Him and towards sin. To prevent this, God mixed up their language so they could no longer understand each other. Suddenly, they were speaking different languages, causing confusion and chaos among them. The tower that was meant to be a gateway to God became a symbol of confusion.

From there, God scattered the people all over the earth and gave them different languages. If they had focused on God instead of their own greatness, they could have accomplished great things together. But their pride led to their downfall.

The story of the Tower of Babel teaches us the importance of humility. Instead of thinking we're better than others, we should recognize that everyone is special in their own way. Being humble means listening to our parents and those in authority, treating others with kindness, and spending time reading the Bible and praying. By doing these things, we shift our focus from ourselves to God and others.
