New Delhi - Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently concluded his state visits to the United States and Egypt and returned to Delhi last night. Upon his arrival, he wasted no time and immediately chaired a cabinet meeting in the national capital on Monday. The meeting, attended by prominent Union Ministers such as Amit Shah, Nirmala Sitharaman, and Hardeep Singh Puri, along with senior officials, aimed to discuss important matters of national significance.
Earlier in the day, Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, had a meeting with Prime Minister Modi to brief him on the latest developments in the state of Manipur. This meeting followed a previous briefing by Manipur Chief Minister Biren Singh to Shah regarding the "evolving situation" in the state. Singh expressed confidence that the state and central governments had managed to exert control over the violence to a significant extent. In response to the situation, Amit Shah had called for an all-party meeting on Saturday to address the prevailing circumstances in Manipur.
The all-party meeting, which was presided over by Amit Shah, aimed to assess the situation in the violence-stricken state. In attendance were key political figures such as BJP national president JP Nadda, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, and CPI(M) MP John Brittas, among others. The meeting served as a platform for leaders to discuss and evaluate the ongoing issues in Manipur, seeking ways to restore peace and stability to the region.
In parallel to these domestic affairs, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's state visits to the United States and Egypt were of significant importance. After spending six days in total on these visits, he arrived back in Delhi on Monday morning. At the Palam airport, he received a warm welcome from BJP national President JP Nadda, Union Minister of State Meenakashi Lekhi, and several party MPs, including Hans Raj Hans and Gautam Gambhir.
PM Modi took to social media, specifically Twitter, to share glimpses of his visit to Egypt. He posted a video showcasing his arrival in the African country, his meetings with Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and his interactions with members of the Indian diaspora. In his tweet accompanying the video, PM Modi expressed gratitude to President El-Sisi, the Egyptian government, and the people of Egypt for their warm reception and highlighted that his visit would strengthen the bilateral relations between India and Egypt, benefiting the people of both nations.
