Surat Diamond Bourse in Gujarat's Surat - World's Largest Office Building Surpassing the Pentagon!

Surat, the gem capital of India located in Gujarat, has achieved a remarkable feat by surpassing the United States to host the world's largest office building. The prestigious title now belongs to the "Surat Diamond Bourse," a comprehensive hub for over 65,000 diamond professionals. This impressive structure has dethroned the iconic Pentagon in the US, becoming a symbol of India's grandeur.

Occupying an astounding 7.1 million square feet of floor space, the Surat Diamond Bourse stands larger than the Pentagon, which served as the headquarters of the United States Department of Defense for nearly eight decades. Spanning across 35 acres of land, this sprawling 15-story complex has been meticulously designed to cater to the needs of the diamond industry. Its architecture boasts a series of nine interconnected rectangular structures radiating from a central "spine," showcasing an innovative and efficient layout.

The construction of this awe-inspiring office building spanned a period of approximately four years, including a two-year delay caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. However, despite the challenges, the project has come to fruition and is now ready to house its first occupants in November. Later this year, the grand inauguration will be graced by none other than Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself, underscoring the significance of this landmark achievement for India's business landscape.

As Surat Diamond Bourse prepares to take its place among the world's architectural wonders, it signals India's growing prominence in the global business arena, marking a moment of pride for the nation and its people.
