Washington - The White House stated its non-support for Ukraine's launching of attacks inside Russia, following an incident where two drones from Ukraine damaged buildings in Moscow. White House spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre emphasized that, as a general policy, they do not endorse attacks within Russian territory.
In response to the drone strikes, Russia vowed to take severe retaliatory measures against Ukraine, deeming them brazen acts of terror. Jean-Pierre asserted that the responsibility for the conflict lies with Russia, stating that it is a war initiated by Russia, and they have the power to end it by withdrawing their forces from Ukraine instead of resorting to brutal attacks on civilians.
Fortunately, no casualties were reported in the attack on Moscow, which was the most notable incident of its kind since drones reached the Kremlin in May. One of the drones struck close to Russia's defense headquarters, serving as a symbolic demonstration of their reach. A senior Ukrainian official warned of more attacks to come.
In response to the situation, Kyiv revealed that a Russian drone attack destroyed Ukrainian grain warehouses on the Danube River, resulting in seven injuries.
Despite international condemnation and accusations of a brutal war of conquest, the Kremlin announced its intention to persist with its "special military operation" in Ukraine. Additionally, Crimea, which was annexed by Russia from Ukraine in 2014, experienced attacks from a swarm of 17 drones overnight. These drones targeted an ammunition warehouse and damaged a residential building, as reported by the Russian Defence Ministry and the Russian-installed head of Crimea.
