Meeting on Parliamentary Strategy in Progress at the Residence of Sonia Gandhi

A meeting of the Congress Parliamentary Strategy Group is currently in progress at Sonia Gandhi's residence, 10 Janpath, New Delhi, in preparation for the upcoming special session of Parliament.

According to sources, prominent leaders including KC Venugopal, Adhiranjan Chaudhary, Mallikarjun Kharge, Salman Khurshid, and others are in attendance at the gathering.

Notably, Sonia Gandhi was discharged from Sir Ganharam Hospital on Monday, having been admitted with mild fever symptoms on Sunday.

The special session of Parliament is scheduled for five days from September 18 to 22, following the G20 Summit in the national capital on September 9 and 10. Despite no official announcement regarding the session's agenda, there are indications that it might be conducted in the newly inaugurated Parliament building by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 28. Preparations are ongoing to ensure the new building is ready to host the sessions.

Typically, three parliamentary sessions are held each year: the Budget, Monsoon, and Winter sessions. With the government keeping its agenda undisclosed, speculations have arisen about the potential passage of significant bills by the Modi administration leading up to the Lok Sabha elections.
