Chandrababu Naidu's Corruption Case: Judicial Remand Extended to October 19

Amaravati - On Thursday, a local court in the area took the decision to prolong the judicial remand of N Chandrababu Naidu, the leader of the TDP, in connection with the Skill Development Corporation scam case. This extension spans a period of two weeks, setting a new deadline of October 19.

This marks the third extension of Naidu's remand, following the conclusion of the second remand extension on Thursday. Additionally, the court has scheduled hearings for Naidu's bail application and a petition filed by the Andhra Pradesh Police CID, which is seeking his custody, for Friday.

During these proceedings, the CID was represented by Additional Advocate General P Sudhakar Reddy, while Supreme Court lawyer Pramod Dubey advocated on behalf of the former chief minister.

The CID is requesting an additional five-day police custody for Naidu to continue their questioning, as he allegedly did not cooperate fully with investigators during the initial two-day custodial interrogation conducted on September 23 and 24.

Naidu was taken into custody on September 9 on allegations of misappropriating funds from the Skill Development Corporation, leading to an estimated loss of over Rs 300 crore to the state treasury.
