The Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit's tenth edition, themed 'Gateway to the Future,' is set to unfold in Gandhinagar from January 10-12, 2024, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressing India's ambitious vision of achieving developed status within the next 25 years. Addressing the summit, Modi emphasized the significance of these upcoming years as India's "Amrit Kaal" or the nectar period.
Originally launched in 2003 during Modi's tenure as Chief Minister, the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit has evolved into a crucial event. The 2024 edition, commemorating "20 Years of Vibrant Gujarat as the Summit of Success," marks the first such gathering in the Amrit Kaal, making it particularly momentous. Modi highlighted the involvement of representatives from over 100 countries as pivotal partners in India's development journey.
PM Modi also welcomed UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed to the summit, noting the joy of his presence and emphasizing its symbolic significance for the strengthening India-UAE relations. Notably, agreements totaling billions of dollars for investments in India's port infrastructure were inked by UAE companies.
Prior to the summit, Modi and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed held a joint roadshow in Ahmedabad, drawing a warm reception from a sizable crowd. Reflecting on India's economic progress, Modi stated, "Today, India is the fifth largest economy globally," emphasizing the remarkable ascent from the 11th position a decade ago. He expressed confidence that India would soon be among the top three economies, as projected by major international agencies.
Modi underscored India's global standing, portraying the nation as a pillar of stability, a trustworthy friend, a proponent of people-centric development, and a crucial voice in the Global South. He highlighted India's role as an engine of global economic growth, a technology hub, and a democratic force delivering results.
Acknowledging global challenges, Modi attributed India's economic resilience and growth momentum to a decade of focused structural reforms. These reforms, he asserted, have bolstered India's economic capacity, capability, and competitiveness on the world stage.
