A two-storey school building in Nigeria's Plateau state collapsed, resulting in the deaths of twenty-two individuals, Sky News reported on Saturday.
According to a police spokesperson, 154 people were trapped under the rubble, but all except the deceased were rescued and are currently receiving treatment for injuries in various hospitals.
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) announced via Facebook that thirty people remain hospitalized, and rescue operations have concluded with the site now cleared.
The building, part of Saint Academy in the Busa Buji community of Jos North district, collapsed during school hours at approximately 0730 GMT. Building collapses are a common issue in Nigeria, attributed to lax safety regulations and the use of substandard construction materials.
