KCBC submits memorandum to Chief Minister

Thiruvananthapuram: KCBC President Cardinal Mar Baselios Clemis Catholicos Bava presented a memorandum to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan outlining a range of concerns raised by the Kerala Catholic Church and the wider public.

The memorandum highlighted key issues, including the publication and implementation of the Justice J.B. Koshy Commission report, the demands of Dalit Christians, proposed amendments to the Kerala Forest Act, the Munambam Waqf claim, coastal and rubber farmers' issues, challenges related to paddy procurement, the ongoing Vizhinjam protest crisis, and the acceptance of appointments in aided schools for differently-abled individuals in light of reservation policies.

The meeting was attended by prominent figures such as Dr. Varghese Chakkalakkal, Bishop of Kozhikode and President of the Kerala Latin Catholic Bishops' Committee, Archbishop Mar Thomas Tharayil, representative of the Syro-Malabar Major Archbishop and Archbishop of Changanassery, and Fr. Thomas Tharayil, Deputy Secretary General of KCBC.
