Ankara: On Sunday, four individuals lost their lives in southwest Turkey when an ambulance helicopter collided with a hospital building and plummeted to the ground.
The helicopter had just taken off from the Mugla Training and Research Hospital, carrying two pilots, a doctor, and a medical worker, according to a statement from the health ministry.
Idris Akbiyik, the regional governor of Mugla, reported that the helicopter first struck the fourth floor of the hospital building before crashing to the ground. Fortunately, no one inside the hospital or on the ground was injured. The cause of the accident, which occurred in heavy fog, is currently under investigation.
Video footage from the scene depicted debris scattered around the area outside the hospital, with multiple ambulances and emergency teams responding.
