Investigators are expected to finalize the transcript from the cockpit voice recorder retrieved from the Jeju Air Boeing 737-800 that tragically crashed last Sunday, according to a statement from the Ministry of Transport.
The recovery team has already secured one of the aircraft's two engines, with efforts to retrieve the second engine underway. In addition, they plan to analyze the plane's tail and landing gear at the crash site to uncover more details about the incident.
As part of safety precautions, the transport ministry has initiated a thorough inspection of all Boeing 737-800 aircraft operated by Korean airlines. Immediate corrective measures will be enforced if any issues are identified during these checks, ensuring the safety of air travel across the country.
The investigation continues as authorities work diligently to understand the cause of the crash and prevent similar tragedies in the future.
