Google has introduced a fresh wave of updates to its Gemini AI, aimed at making advanced AI capabilities more accessible and intuitive. In a recent blog post, the company outlined improvements designed to streamline tasks like research, planning, and personal productivity.
Enhanced Flash Thinking Model
The latest iteration of Gemini’s 2.0 Flash Thinking Experimental model now supports file uploads and boasts an expanded context window of up to 1 million tokens for advanced users. This enhancement allows for more in-depth and complex queries to be processed with greater efficiency.
Deep Research Goes Global
Previously available to select users, the Deep Research tool is now launching in over 45 languages. It enables users to collect and analyze web data more effectively, generating richer reports with improved reasoning capabilities. Free-tier users can now access it a few times per month, while Advanced users enjoy extended access.
More Personalized AI Responses
Gemini will now tailor its responses based on a user’s Google Search history, offering smarter recommendations for tasks like travel planning and restaurant searches. For those who prefer privacy, this feature can be easily disabled in settings.
Expanded Google App Integrations
Gemini is deepening its integration with Google Calendar, Tasks, Notes, and soon, Google Photos. This means users can now complete multi-step actions in a single prompt—such as finding a recipe, generating a shopping list, and locating nearby grocery stores. Future updates will enable Gemini to create travel itineraries based on past trips and extract details from stored documents.
Gems AI Assistants Now Free for All
Google is also making Gems, its customizable AI assistant feature, available to all users at no cost. This allows users to build AI-powered assistants—such as a translator or fitness planner—through an easy-to-use setup.
With these updates, Google is reinforcing Gemini’s role as a smarter, more adaptive AI companion for everyday tasks, making advanced AI more practical and user-friendly than ever.
