Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has arrived in Helsinki ahead of an official visit to Finland on Wednesday, Finnish President Alexander Stubb's office confirmed on Tuesday.
The visit will focus on Finland's support for Ukraine, including measures to end Russia's war. Additionally, both leaders will engage with defence industry representatives, underscoring military cooperation between the two nations.
Zelenskiy's arrival coincides with U.S. President Donald Trump’s diplomatic outreach to Russian President Vladimir Putin, as he attempts to broker a ceasefire and lay the groundwork for a lasting resolution to the three-year conflict.
Joining the presidential palace discussions on Wednesday will be Finland’s finance, defence, and foreign ministers, alongside meetings between Zelenskiy, Prime Minister Petteri Orpo, and parliament speaker Jussi Halla-aho, Finnish authorities stated.
This marks Zelenskiy’s second visit to Finland since Russia launched its full-scale invasion in 2022. He is accompanied by First Lady Olena Zelenska, who will visit local schools alongside Suzanne Innes-Stubb, the Finnish president’s wife.
