"No Provocation, But Vigilance": India Keeps Watch After Operation Sindoor, All-Party Meet Today

In the aftermath of Operation Sindoor, India is maintaining a heightened state of alert while closely observing Pakistan’s next steps. Although India has signaled that it will not initiate further action, officials have clearly stated that any hostile response from Pakistan will be met with a firm counter. In preparation, New Delhi has reached out to key allies, briefing them on the rationale behind its military operation and reinforcing its diplomatic position.

Security along the Line of Control has intensified, with Pakistani forces reportedly launching aggressive attacks aimed at Indian civilians. In response, Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi remains in continuous communication with field units, closely overseeing the situation. The Indian military has also reported ongoing ceasefire violations, which are under careful surveillance. As a precaution, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has instructed district officials to prepare for any escalation.

Amid the growing tensions, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah convened an emergency virtual meeting with all district deputy commissioners. He ordered the expansion of shelters and bunkers near the border, and directed that food supplies be stockpiled to support displaced civilians. Immediate funds have been earmarked—₹5 crore for each border district and ₹2 crore for others. Schools remain closed in Kashmir, and operations at Srinagar airport have been suspended for the day.

In the national capital, a high-level all-party meeting has been scheduled for 11 a.m. at Parliament House. Convened by the central government, the meeting will include the Home Minister and the Defense Minister and comes in the wake of the deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, which claimed 26 lives. The session aims to provide a unified review of India's security and diplomatic strategy going forward.
