New Delhi: The Indian government has imposed a strict ban on Turkey-based ground handling company Jalebi Airport Services at Indian airports, citing its support for Pakistan. The central authorities have officially withdrawn the company’s security clearance, citing national security concerns.
Sunil Yadav, Joint Director (Operations) at the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security, confirmed in a government directive that the revocation was necessary to safeguard the nation. Jalebi Airport Services, a prominent player in airport ground handling, operates in several key Indian airports including Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kochi, and Chennai.
Owned by Istanbul-based Jalebi Aviation Holding Company, the firm manages around 70 percent of ground operations at Mumbai Airport. Its services cover a wide range of airport functions such as passenger handling, cargo and postal services, general aviation, warehousing, and bridge operations.
This decisive move reflects India’s firm stance against entities perceived to support adversarial nations, reinforcing national security priorities in the aviation sector.
