New Delhi: Japan has voiced strong backing for India’s decisive action against terrorism, affirming that Operation Sindoor was a justified and measured response. An all-party delegation from India, led by Janata Dal (United) MP Sanjay Jha, met with Japanese Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya and senior officials on Tuesday to explain the details of the operation and India’s national security stance. The Japanese side reiterated unwavering support for India’s anti-terrorism efforts.
Sanjay Jha highlighted Japan’s consistent solidarity with India in combating terrorism, adding that the delegation also engaged with former Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga, who expressed similar support for India’s position.
Japanese diplomat Satoru Nagao commended Operation Sindoor as a responsible and fitting reaction to terrorism. Nagao, who oversees security cooperation among the US, Japan, and India, condemned Pakistan’s backing of terrorist activities as self-destructive. In an interview with ANI, he called the Pahalgam attack “a terrible incident” and praised India’s response as exemplary and appropriate.
Meanwhile, a delegation led by Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde held high-level talks in the UAE on Tuesday. Shinde reported that the UAE expressed readiness to extend full cooperation to India’s diplomatic efforts. Emphasizing that Islam does not condone the killing of innocent civilians, Shinde’s team met with senior Emirati leaders Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan and Dr. Ali Al Nuaimi.
The Indian Embassy in the UAE confirmed that India and the UAE will stand united against terrorism, sharing images of the meetings on Twitter to underscore the growing partnership in security and diplomacy.
