Beirut: In a powerful display of faith and artistry, Lebanon is crafting what may become the world’s largest rosary in the village of Deir el Ahmed. Stretching over 600 meters in length, the monumental project known as the Rosary of Lebanon is designed not for world records, but to deepen the spiritual life and unity of the Christian community.
Unlike traditional rosaries, this one is built from concrete, and each bead is an architectural structure in itself measuring approximately 4.9 meters long and 3.5 meters wide. Pilgrims can physically walk through each bead, reciting prayers as they move closer to the giant cross-shaped centerpiece.
At the heart of this sacred path lies a chapel featuring a revered painting of the Virgin Mary and angels, originally by French classical artist William-Adolphe Bouguereau, bringing an added spiritual and artistic dimension to the journey.
Project organizers emphasized that the initiative is not intended as a Guinness World Record attempt, but as a beacon of faith, education, and healing for Christians across the region and beyond.
