Ramapuram: Undeterred by the pouring rain and challenging weather, the youth of SMYM-KCYM Ramapuram unit completed their second Alphonsian pilgrimage walk, reaffirming their deep spiritual commitment and community spirit.
Around 25 young faithful, guided by prayer and purpose, set out on foot from Ramapuram to the St. Alphonsa Pilgrimage Centre, treading the serene yet rain-soaked path of V. Suhanathan. The spiritual journey was both an act of penance and celebration, paying homage to Saint Alphonsa, the beloved saint of the land.
The pilgrimage was flagged off with a blessing by Rev. Fr. Berchmans Kunnumpuram, vicar of Mapuram Forona Church. Leading the walk with spiritual fervor was Fr. Abraham Kuzhimulil, the Unit Director, who accompanied the youth throughout the journey, encouraging them with words of faith and guidance.
This second edition of the Alphonsian Walk by SMYM Ramapuram reflects a growing tradition among the youth to blend devotion with action, drawing inspiration from Saint Alphonsa’s life of sacrifice and simplicity. Despite the heavy downpour, the participants persevered with prayerful hearts, singing hymns and sharing reflections, turning the road itself into a path of grace.
Organizers noted that such initiatives are not only spiritual milestones but also opportunities to strengthen unity among the youth and deepen their commitment to the Church and community. As they reached the sacred grounds of the pilgrimage centre, the young walkers were welcomed with prayers, chants, and blessings, bringing their journey to a meaningful close. The Alphonsian Walk continues to serve as a symbol of youthful devotion in Ramapuram, a town deeply connected to the legacy of Saint Alphonsa.
