New Delhi: Panic gripped parts of Dwarka on Monday morning after multiple educational institutions, including Delhi Public School (DPS) Dwarka, Modern Convent School, ShreeRam World School in Sector 10, and a local college, received bomb threat emails. Authorities immediately evacuated students and staff, launching full-scale search and security operations.
According to officials, emergency response teams comprising Delhi Police, bomb disposal squads, dog squads, and the Delhi Fire Service were deployed to the affected premises. The searches lasted several hours, but no explosives or suspicious items were recovered. Investigators confirmed that the threats were delivered through emails, similar to a series of recent hoax warnings that have disrupted schools across the capital.
The incident follows a wave of threats targeting educational institutions in Delhi over the past month. On July 18, more than 50 schools across the city reported receiving similar emails, prompting mass evacuations. In one earlier case, the source was traced to a 12-year-old boy who had sent a hoax message.
Police said that while no danger was ultimately detected in Monday’s case, the threats are being treated with utmost seriousness. Cyber teams have been tasked with tracking the origin of the emails to determine whether the latest warnings are linked to previous incidents.
Officials reassured parents and the public that all necessary safety measures were taken and that schools will continue to operate with heightened vigilance. However, the repeated threats have caused anxiety among families and disrupted academic schedules, with authorities urging strict action against those responsible.
