EAM Jaishankar Labels Pakistan as 'Epicentre of Global Terrorism' at UNGA, Issues Warning to Supportive Nations

New York: India’s External Affairs Minister, S. Jaishankar, delivered a strong condemnation of Pakistan during his address at the 80th United Nations General Assembly on September 27. He called Pakistan the "epicentre of global terrorism," highlighting that numerous major international terrorist attacks over the decades have been traced back to the country.

Jaishankar emphasized that Pakistani nationals are prominently listed on UN-designated terrorist lists, underscoring the nation’s involvement in fostering terrorism globally. Referring to the April 2025 Pahalgam attack in Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed the lives of innocent tourists, he described the act as "barbaric" and reaffirmed India’s right to protect its citizens and bring perpetrators to justice.

In addition to condemning acts of terrorism, Jaishankar issued a warning to countries that support or condone Pakistan’s sponsorship of terrorism. He stated that such alliances could have serious repercussions, asserting that "those who condone nations that sponsor terror will find that it comes back to bite them." This statement reflects India’s call for greater global accountability in addressing state-sponsored terrorism.

Jaishankar’s remarks have drawn international attention, reinforcing India’s stance on terrorism and its demand for global cooperation in combating it.
