Rajanagar: A spirit of faith and devotion filled Rajanagar as 232 children gathered for a three-day Bible camp organized by St. Joseph Catholic Church, East Arunachal Pradesh. Held from 28 to 30 September at the Don Bosco School Hall, the camp aimed to help young participants know Christ more intimately and integrate the Word of God into daily life.
Themed “Know Christ and Be with Christ,” the camp welcomed students from Classes 4 to 10 across all parish sub-stations. The programme combined spiritual formation with creative learning, encouraging children to actively engage with Scripture through skits, parables, faith-sharing discussions, and interactive workshops. By blending prayer, performance, and reflection, the camp sought to make the Bible come alive for young hearts, fostering both understanding and enthusiasm for the faith.
The Sisters of Mary Immaculate (SMI) spearheaded the organisation, supported by catechism teachers and Salesian collaborators from Tinsukia Parish. The opening ceremony featured a solemn procession and the veneration of the Bible, setting a tone of reverence and devotion. Throughout the three days, children explored both the Old and New Testaments, deepened their understanding of confession and catechism, and participated in creative exercises designed to illustrate Christian teachings in accessible and memorable ways.
The camp concluded with a solemn Mass celebrated by Fr. Linus, Rector of Miao Minor Seminary, who encouraged the children to live their Christian faith with joy and commitment. “Carry the Word of God into your daily life and let it guide your actions, your choices, and your love for others,” he urged.
Parish Priest Fr. Joseph Kindo and Don Bosco School Principal Fr. Paul Panmei SDB were lauded for their guidance and support, which played a key role in the smooth conduct of the camp. The organisers also expressed gratitude to the SMI Sisters and catechism teachers for their tireless dedication in making the programme both spiritually enriching and enjoyable.
Through a blend of prayer, learning, and creativity, the Bible camp in Rajanagar provided children with a platform to encounter Christ more deeply, reinforcing their faith and inspiring them to carry the joy of Christian living into everyday life.
