NISCORT and Amrat Talithakum India Empower Religious Sisters through Digital Storytelling and Cyber Safety Workshop

Ghaziabad: A transformative three-day workshop on Digital Storytelling and Cyber Safety, jointly organised by NISCORT Media College and Amrat Talithakum India, concluded successfully on Sunday, bringing together 40 religious Sisters from various congregations across nine regions of India. The initiative, held from October 3 to 5, sought to strengthen digital communication skills and promote safer, more responsible media engagement among women religious.

The workshop aimed to equip participants with practical tools in photography, videography, news writing, and digital communication, while inspiring them to harness technology for storytelling and mission-driven outreach. Through a blend of hands-on sessions and collaborative exercises, the Sisters learned to craft compelling narratives using short films, videos, and documentaries, reflecting their social and pastoral experiences.

Under the guidance of NISCORT’s experienced faculty, participants explored how digital media could serve as an instrument for evangelisation, advocacy, and empowerment. The sessions also delved into the role of social media in expanding community networks and developing effective personal and institutional branding.

Highlighting the workshop’s emphasis on safety in the digital sphere, Dr. Ritu Dubey Tiwari, Principal of NISCORT Media College, stressed the importance of cyber security awareness and proactive measures against online manipulation, fraud, and exploitation. She urged participants to become “digital guardians” within their communities, promoting safe and ethical online behavior.

Adding a futuristic dimension to the training, Fr. Robinson Rodrigues, Director of NISCORT, demonstrated the integration of artificial intelligence tools in creative media production. He showcased how AI can assist in video editing, scriptwriting, and content planning, enhancing both productivity and impact in ministry-related communication.

The program concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony, recognising the active participation and enthusiasm of the Sisters. In her closing address, Sr. Meera RGS, President of Amrat Talithakum India, lauded the collaboration, describing it as “a milestone in the journey of empowering Sisters to engage meaningfully with the digital world.”

The NISCORT Amrat Talithakum partnership continues to underscore the importance of media literacy, technological competence, and cyber awareness for religious communities navigating the fast-evolving digital landscape.
