Thiruvalla: The National Christian Movement for Justice (NCMJ) has extended a warm welcome to the Kerala High Court’s verdict declaring that the Munambam land is not waqf property, describing the ruling as a landmark victory for truth, justice, and the long-standing struggle of the local community.
In a statement issued by the State Committee, the organization emphasized that the High Court’s decision should be implemented without delay to restore the rightful revenue ownership and administrative rights of the people of Munambam. The group said the judgment reaffirms the independence of the judiciary and the people’s faith in the justice system.
“The verdict is not just a legal triumph but a moral one,” the statement read. “It validates the persistent fight of Munambam residents who have been standing firm in their demand for justice for over a year. This ruling also delivers a clear message against the politics of appeasement that has been undermining people’s rights.”
Dr. Prakash P. Thomas, State President of the movement, and General Secretary JAYS Pandanad jointly issued the statement following a meeting held in Thiruvalla. They expressed gratitude to all those who supported the cause and reiterated the organization’s commitment to continue standing by communities facing injustice or discrimination.
Several prominent clergy and lay leaders took part in the meeting, including Fr. Pavithrasingh, Pastor Thomas M. Pulivelil, Fr. P. A. Philip, Fr. Benyamin Sankarathil, Fr. Jonukutty K, Fr. Geevarghese Kodiyatt, Aneesh Thomas, Pastor Sam Moovattupuzha, Biju K. Thampi, Ashwin, Koshy George, Binu Pappachan, V. G. Shaji, Shaji T. Philip, and Sajimon.
